Cussonia sphaerocephala
[ Araliaceae ]
[ South Africa ]
A very attractive, evergreen, small tree with a sparsely branching trunk, each branch of which holds a dense head of variable, palmate or bipalmate leaves. Especially young, unbranched plants have a distinctly palm-like appearance. Native to drier regions of South Africa, it makes a wonderful ornamental for warm temperate and tropical regions
